MATRIA: CLINIC DESIGN
WHY IS FEMININE CARE SO INTIMIDATING? In the beginning, I thought I might be alone, a coward of sorts. Through several interviews with friends, colleagues, and any user who would sit and listen, I realized I was not.
Matria is a feminine health clinic I designed from the ground up, backed by the voices of my community. This is more than a rebrand, but also an exploration into changing our relationship with healthcare. How can we make users feel like they are in control, and not being tossed around by “the man”? I focused on a foundation of education, and then surrounded that with stability, privacy, and growth. This is accomplished through improved user interfaces, environmental implementations, and pulling back the blinds on some “taboo topics”.
