ALBUM DESIGN: SOFTER
“Softer” is Deftones rerelease album created (by me) as a tribute to the band’s discography. This project’s constraints involved using only analog type for the vast majority of the album’s design, all fitting into the band’s prior image. For this concept, I chose the title “Softer” to juxtapose my curated set list of some of the bands’ hardest and grittiest tones. The bathroom imagery came from a similar mindset, scrubbing clean what once was grimy and violent. The aesthetic vision was to create an unease, feeling dissonant and depressed.
